• Question: Would you find something out if you actually went into space about the nano second after the big bang?

      If you could travel back to the Big Bang it’d be great and we wouldn’t need to build the LHC – the conditions at a nano-second are very different from now – there were no atoms just the basic building blocks of matter all interacting with each other – electrons and quarks and Higgs bosons (possibly) and W,Z bosons and gluons and perhaps SuperSymmetric particles – the bizarre thing was that unlike now there was almost the same amount of matter and anti-matter and the processes that hoovered up all the anti-matter were just starting to kick in at this time – after a few minutes all the anti-matter had pretty much gone – which is a good job otherwise we wouldn’t be here…
