      Definately the Netherlands, but only because I got them in our work sweepstake (so I would then win money!).

      Who do you think should win?

      Holland followed by Spain, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Brasil and then England. In England’s favour is that we always have one tournament changing moment (Beckham sending off, Rooney sending off, missed penalties) but Ronaldo Green has ensured we’ve had hopefully our worst howler in the first 40 minutes of the tournament – so maybe that’s the worst moment over. But I’m now accustomed to England failing to deliver – it used to upset me but after Euro 2000 and the Portugal game I now just take it on the chin.

      I think maybe Brazil, but I hope England.

      Though I am really not sure about our goal keeper in the last match – he made a shocking error don’t you think?

      Would you play him in the next match if you were Fabio Capello?

      I’ve got Paraguay in the sweepstake at work but I’m not holding out much of a chance of winning that one.

      To be honest, no one’s really impressed me so I think it’s wide open. Argentina look good. So do Germany and you can’t rule out Brazil. Then there’s us. If we can sort out our goalkeeping nightmares then we could go all the way. Spain losing to the Swiss has thrown it wide open.

      I love football… do you?
