      What a question!

And not one that science can really answer, in my opinion. Science can tell us how we came to be here, how we work, how we think even, but I don’t think it will ever be able to tell is why we are here, or what the point of our existence is. These questions are left to philosophy and theology.

What do yo think is the point of life?

Well being at UCL whose founder was Jeremy Bentham (as well as being the name of a very fine pub on University Street) then I’ll have to go for the Utilitarianism answer : to do “the greatest good for the greatest number of people”

I would say that the major driving force in any type of life is to survive and reproduce.

Well, the earth would be a bit dull without us humans on it. We’re all part of a massive cycle and we’re only a miniscule part of it but without us, nothing would come after us.

We wouldn’t have the X Factor for a start and life, in my opinion, then would not be worth living!
