      Hi AllstarSam

Temperature of the sun (according to Wikipedia) is apparently 5,505 °C or 5,778 Kelvin – that’s seriously hot!

Hiya Sam. Good chatting to you!

The surface is 5000 degrees celcius but if you dare venture into the core then you’re in for a surprise… it’s about 15 million degrees! That’s seriously hot.

I’ve always thought that it would be so amazing to develop a suit which can survuive extreme temperatures like this. You’ve heard of moon walking… why not sun walking?!

About 6,000 deg C at the surface but what’s most important is that in the core it is much hotter (a few million degrees) due to the pressure created by gravity – this pressure is so great that it means hydrogen atoms fuse together to form helium and this releases the energy that allows life on earth.
