It’s not if the sun and moon were moving – they ARE moving – the sun and the whole solar system is rotating around the centre of our galaxy (The Milky Way) and the moon is rotating about the earth and the earth about the sun.
The moon is absolutely tiny in size compared to the sun: the sun’s diameter is 400x that of the moon – since mass goes as r^3 (although the moon is more dense) then the sun’s mass is at least a million times that of the moon. So the moon colliding with the sun wouldn’t do an awful lot – it’d just be swallowed up – it’d perturb the orbit of the sun minutely but would likely increase the emission of charged particles and light from the sun which could harm satellites and in a sufficient dose increase cancer rates on earth…so we’d probably get a big flash of light and lots of charged particles – that though would be the least of our problems if the moon disappeared since its gravitational pull on the earth controls the ocean tides – so we’d be in a apocalyptic flood situation and the earth’s orbit would change etc….
