@beaver1997 This is a really good question. There are a huge number of different fungi that have been identified (approx. 200,000 species) – yet fewer than 200 are actually associated with human disease. In fact, some fungi are the producers of antibiotics that actually HELP us fight bacterial infections – cool, huh?
