I have learned a lot from my research, both about the actual system I was researching, but also about myself!

About the systems: I have learned how some proteins kink DNA when the bind it, changing its shape so that they can cut it in half more easily. I have learned how the Green Fluorescent Protein “glows” in the dark.

About myself: I have learned to work hard, and persevere, to keep trying until things work. I have learned that science is a very rewarding career. I have learned that I enjoy understanding results and thinking about the next experiment to do.
